This is especially true this summer as the district prepares to offer bus service to most elementary students for the first time. Unfortunately, much of the mail being sent by the district is being returned due to inaccurate address information, and we need your help to change that. Principal

Samantha Velez-Mitchell

Mrs. Mitchell has been an educator for over 20 years in public schools in NYS. Mrs. Mitchell has worked in various districts throughout her career. She taught as a classroom teacher for 9 years and as a reading teacher for 9 years, working with children grades pre-k through 8. Mrs. Mitchell’s experience working with diverse communities led her to work with the diverse Poughkeepsie community.

Mrs. Mitchell served as an Assistant Principal at Clinton School for four years and at PMS for six months before being appointed as Interim Principal at Morse in February 2021. Mrs. Mitchell is committed to providing our students with the best education possible. 

Our misssion  is to EMPOWER teachers and students to succeed in all areas. At Morse, we focus on the WHOLE child, ensuring all children are healthy, safe, engaged, supported and challenged.
